Don P. Marquess
A professional art photographer since the early eighties, Don
has become one of the most respected photographic artists in the country. Known for his use of intense color, remarkable sharpness, and inventive composition, he has sold more than a quarter of a million photographs with corporate clients that include the Bank of Boston, Smith Barney, and the Kaiser Foundation. He was the exclusive art photographer of Mark McGwire’s 70th homerun baseball as well as Sammy Sosa’s 66th homerun ball.
Mr. Marquess was chosen to conceive and photograph the official
print commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Minor Leagues. A special edition of his photograph “Strike Three” was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals for presentation to Bruce Sutter at his induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Don Marquess collaborated with Hall of Fame broadcaster Jack Buck to merge Jack’s poems with Don’s photographs.
The sole artist in many gallery exhibitions, Mr. Marquess is currently featured in the BJC Sportsworks exhibit at the St. Louis Science Center. Don's photographs grace the offices and walls of many Major League Baseball affiliates throughout the country.
